Hilda Etami Lisinge Agyeman is an experienced Educationist with over 36 years career and professional experience in the field of educational leadership, She began her career as a Contract Officer at the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, Yaounde, Cameroon for 15 years. In that role, she oversaw preparation and verification of contracts for expatriates and also for the Public Service in Cameroon.
She then entered the educational sphere with a career at Monatele Technical High School, Cameroon and held the position of High School English Teacher. Within the year she spent in this role, she led initiatives in broadening the scope of teaching and learning methods, and assessments in collaboration with the Head of Department as well as assessing and evaluating students.
Hilda spent the next 15 years as Head of English Department at Charles Atangana Technical High School, Yaounde, Cameroon. This gave her the opportunity to be more impactful in educational leadership and programming. Over these several years, she managed the English Department, coordinated all activities of teachers in the department with emphasis on pedagogy. Additionally, she supervised planning and preparation of lessons with emphasis on student participation.
To ensure improved academic performance, Hilda collaborated with the inspectorate Division of the Ministry of Education on developing new teaching materials and methods as well as classification of assessments and overseeing examinations. One thing she loved most and did passionately was providing career and psychosocial counselling for students on problems they faced at home which may impact negatively on their ability to focus and perform creditably in their academic work in school.
Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon and a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching of English (High School Teacher of English) from ‘Ecole Normale Superieure’ at Yaounde, Cameroon.
